The site is located on a main road. I want to use the benefits of the heavily frequented street and reduce the problem of the noise. First of all I create a barrier between the street and the site. The effect we can benefit from, is the reduction of noise towards the yard and the connection from the main road.
Due to its L-shape a semi public space is formed. The main idea is to create a small park with a multifunctional use. This place is also a linking part of views and communication towards each of the buildings on the site.
Following the urban structure of Bežigrad with different heights and widths of the buildings I reused the silhouette of the surrounding to the set of buildings on the site.
To get into the yard or to the main road Dunajska Cesta I created so called ‘gates’. These gates are passages which are separating the buildings and their usage.
Furthermore the concept is considering to the idea of Co-Living. The buildings do have different usages: housing, working, gastronomy and shopping facilities, offering a new way of infrastructure in the neighbourhood.
